2.1 The mechanical properties of steel wires delivered in HD state shall be determined through negotiation between the supply and demand parties.
2.2 The mechanical properties of surface-hardened steel wire in the delivery state shall comply with the provisions of Table 2.
2.3 When steel wires are delivered in straight or polished state, a 10% fluctuation in mechanical properties is allowed.
2.4 The mechanical properties of steel wires with nominal diameters greater than 25.00mm shall be determined through negotiation between the supply and demand parties.
2.5 The mechanical properties of brands not listed in the table shall be determined through negotiation between the supply and demand parties.
2.6 upsetting
The steel wire specimen is cold-upset forged to one half of the original specimen height, and there shall be no cracks or cracks on the surface. It can also be forged to one-third or one-quarter of the height of the original specimen upon agreement between both parties.

The spheroidized structure of the steel wire treated by spheroidized annealing can be inspected according to the requirements of the buyer and stated in the contract. The qualification level and test method shall be negotiated between the supply and demand parties.

3.1 decarburized layer
According to the requirements of the buyer and stated in the contract, the decarburization layer on the surface of the steel wire can be inspected. The allowable depth range of the full decarburization layer and the total decarburization layer (ferrite + transition layer) of the steel wire should comply with the provisions of Table 6. When the decarburization layer needs special requirements, it will be determined through consultation between the supply and demand parties. The carbon content is no more than 0. For 30% steel wire, the inspection method shall be negotiated by both the supply and demand parties.
3.2 Carbon increase
The surface of the steel wire shall not be carburized. If the supplier can guarantee it, no inspection can be carried out.

4. surface quality

4.1 The surface of the steel wire should be smooth and free of cracks, scarring, folds, delamination, pull marks and rust. However, individual pits, convexities, indentations and scratches with a depth not exceeding half of the diameter tolerance are allowed. Oxide color is allowed on the surface of steel wire delivered in annealed state.
4.2 The surface coating requirements of steel wire shall be determined through consultation between the supply and demand parties.
