Note: For nominal wire diameters over 25.00 mm, the allowable decarburization depth range shall be agreed between supplier and purchaser.

6.1 microstructure
The microstructure of steel wire produced by SALD process shall be spheroidized; the spheroidized level shall be negotiated by both the supply and demand parties, and the spheroidized level shall be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of JB/T 5074; the inspection method for decarbonization layer shall be determined by both the supply and demand parties through negotiation.
6.2 decarburization depth
Steel wires produced by SALD process shall be inspected for decarburized layer. The allowable range of full decarburized layer depth on one side of the steel wire and total decarburized layer depth (ferrite + transition layer) shall comply with the provisions of Table 4; the decarburized layer inspection method shall be determined through consultation between the supply and demand parties. 6.3 recarburization For steel wires produced by SALD process, no carbon reinforcement is allowed on the surface of the steel wire; if the supplier can guarantee it, inspection is not required.
